Grsomont Signals Tearoom

Hours 9am – 5pm – 3 to 4 days
(any of 7 days)

Previous experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Duties include clearing tables, serving food at the counter, taking payments and preparing snacks and light meals

Pullman Dining Train

BAR STEWARD

Lunches 11.30am–17.30pm – Evenings 16.00pm-23.50pm

Training provided.

Duties include meeting Guests, taking drinks orders, dispensing drinks, cash handling, preparing bills, stocking and cleaning bar.

WAITING STEWARDS

Lunches 12.00–17.30pm – Evenings 18.00pm-23.50pm

Previous experience would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given.  Duties include setting tables, greeting Guests, serving food, clearing down after service, presenting bills and other related duties.

Timetable distribution

Volunteers are needed to distribute our summer timetables in the local area around the Railway. Please contact Iris Woodhead on 01751 473799, extension 233, or by emailing iris.woodhead@nymr.co.uk.

Events Co-ordinator

A volunteer is needed who will take an overview of our Events programme, develop existing events in association with the nominate Events Co-ordinators and Station Groups, and develop new events appropriate to the Railway.

Fund Raising

We are looking to establish a dedicated team of volunteers to take forward fund raising projects such as our Bridge and Wheels Appeal. Please contact Trust Secretary Brian Draper by emailing bryan.draper@nymr.co.uk.

Customer Services

The Customer Service team provide an essential role to our passengers and customers, and are generally the first port of call for people who want to find out more about the railway. We have two offices; the Enquiries Office is situated on Pickering Station and provides information to passengers and customers, both face to face and on the phone; the Telesales Office concentrates on bookings for our Pullman Dining Services, Holiday Accommodation, Groups, Footplate Experiences and Special Events. We are looking for volunteers to assist in both roles – if you enjoy communicating with people and are computer literate (telesales role only), then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us!
